TORA Research Highlights The Importance Of Food And Drink ‘Taste-Setters’

Word of mouth recommendations critical as cost cutting and healthy choices influence purchasing behaviour

New findings from The Oxford Research Agency (TORA) show that whilst 78% of us are open to trying and experimenting with new food and drink products, a tiny minority of consumers, just 7%, set the trend that dictates whether a brand is adopted universally. The findings are taken from TORA’s A Question of Taste report, which included the views of 1534 people from the UK, US, France, Germany, China and Brazil.

Oxford, 12th May 2010 –The Oxford Research Agency (TORA) is investing €500,000 in Simply Zesty, Ireland’s largest social media firm, which boasts a client list including Vodafone, Nokia, Universal Films and the Body Shop. TORA, which specialises in FMCG new product development and customer experience research, is taking a significant minority stake in Simply Zesty which values the business at over one million euros. The investment and partnership with Simply Zesty will enhance TORA’s service offering by providing new ways for brands to interact with customers, particularly in the areas of new product development and customer satisfaction.
